Kate said she and soon-to-be ex-husband Jon are not looking to start a war with the other.  “The goal is peace and we’ve achieved that numerous times.  The Fourth of July we spent together as a family. And my goal is, no matter what the circumstance, no matter what place one of us is in, my goal is really peace and the best that it can be for the kids.”

Kate said their kids are doing well under the circumstances.  “They’re doing remarkably well. This has opened up a lot of discussions between them and myself. A lot of questions come my way. And we’re dealing with it.”

The reality TV mom refused to speak badly of Jon, especially since their children could read or hear about it.  She added, “I don’t want them to see or hear anything on TV that I didn’t discuss with them… But I don’t feel like I need to go any further than that at this time.”

Kate admitted to “freaking out” sometimes over little details.  “It is very hard. And I have my hard days.  And I have days where, you know, I don’t always say the right thing or do the right thing or phrase things the way that I should. But generally speaking, my rule of thumb is I want to be positive, I want to look forward and I want the kids to look back on all that they’re going to see of me and know that I did my best.”

When asked if she’s ready to hit the dating scene, Kate said she’s “too busy,” right now.

“No.  Too busy.  Sorry.”  But she’s certainly not opposed to the idea, and she’s not concerned about being a single mom with eight kids.

“I’m lonely, but I’m – I’m very busy and, actually, I’m all right.”
