Kate Gosselin and her eight kids are right in the path of Hurricane Sandy. The single mom has been busy making sure their homestead is fully stocked and prepared for what some are saying could be the worst storm to hit the United States ever.
And in the midst of all the chaos of what could be impending disaster, Kate Gosselin shared her thoughts, plans and even menu items with her Twitter followers, an action that wasn’t totally embraced by readers.
What has Kate Gosselin been tweeting? In part of her prep, Kate Goseelin was trying desperately to find a generator for her family’s home. After searching she tweeted, “Amazing news!A friend of a friend has a used backup generator I’m buying!I am SUPER relieved&positive that we won’t even need it!”
She also did a little bartering. She wrote, “We’ve been busy prepping4storm&I was cooking for a friend who cleared r gutters(thank you!).”
She worked hard on prepping to get all set for the big storm writing, “I’ve worked all wkend preparing along w EVERY1 else. There r NO more generators in the state. I am sure, no batteries, flashlights or gas cans either. I’ve had my gutters cleared. Brought in all lose items, charged lanterns&phones.” She also said she, “replaced batteries in all flashlights& bought some ‘head lamps’ 4fun!
And she is keeping bwroteusy at home tweeting, “Now,I’m baking my 2nd loaf of bread ,heading2take another shower ‘just in case'” Next, I’m going 2 play Wii w my kids! We’ll turn Sandy in2 family fun, UNLESS…. She ruins our fun and destroys our home!:( Check back, I’ll live tweet!”
On twitter a user wrote in response to her plan to “live tweet.” that, “Its a scary time, 4 kids. Live tweeting during a storm isn’t going to help ur kids. Pay attention to THEM, not ur audience.” Kate calmly replied, “lol, so far we are all just fine.. Content warm and tucked in.. No harm in tweeting, caring ppl r concerned4us&all in path!”
Later she gave a weather report saying, “Raining here,” adding that she made, “..a nice homemade dinner of white bean turkey chili& mommys garlic bread.” She stayed optimistic tweeting, “Nice 2know we have an extra sleep in tomorrow..So long as Sandy behaves herself.” But added later in response to a Twitter follower that she was, “kinda nervous. It’s me here with my 8 kids against Sandy…”
She kept up her upbeat tone saying, “Is it bad 2say that so far,we r having nothing but FUN w Sandy(or the lack of her)?” then someone questioned her lighthearted view of the hurricane bringing up that more than sixty people had died. Kate replied with, “I think it’s more of a hopeful mindset, morale booster and a distraction…if I had to be accurate;/”
