Hurricane Sandy is starting to bear down on the mid-Atlantic now. Flooding is already starting in the coastal areas, and farther inland, the rains and wind are picking up fast. It won’t be long before the full brunt of the storm hits.
But there’s still time for many families to do last-minute preparations before the possible loss of power. That’s what Kate Gosselin and her eight children are doing as we speak.
The reality star continues her live Twitter diary this morning. Here’s what she’s been up to recently:
Last night, the kids took a break from their normal nighttime routine. “Mady is reading a bedtime story to the little kids…stayed up late; no reason not to!”
At 9:00 AM, Pennsylvania was still ominously quiet. “It’s eerie here this am. Dark&dreary but no rain and only a breeze thru the trees,” Kate wrote.
As we know, though, things got worse fast.
Kate’s Diary Entry #8 said: “The rain is serious now. I’m doing laundry, running dishwashers and cooking a few meals that r hearty&stovetop reheatable! I’m as ready as I’ll ever b.”
Shortly before noon, the mom of multiples got her crew together for some personal cleaning and chores. “It’s showerX b4 we lose electricity. Then all 9 will fold laundry tog while watching TV.”
The biggest challenge for the Gosselins may be finding ways to stay occupied for the next couple of days – the storm may keep them housebound till as late as Wednesday.
One fan remarked that the kids probably wanted to go out and play, and Kate replied, “and so does the dog…he’s gotten more treats and toys since yesterday than at Christmas time…he’s bored.”
Fortunately, twins Mady and Cara are skilled at helping their sextuplet siblings occupy themselves. They often play school, acting as the teachers, and they enjoy planning parties and shopping trips.
But there are bound to be some stretches of boredom before Sandy finally wears out and moves on. Here’s hoping Kate and her crew manage to maintain their sanity!
We’ll check in with the Gosselins for further developments.
How are you doing with Sandy so far?
