Kate Gosselin Shines in the Emmy Awards Opening Number!

Kate GosselinNot only did Kate Gosselin get to walk the red carpet at the Emmy Awards and be interviewed by Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush, but she also got to participate in what was one of the best Award Show opening numbers in a long time! After a lot of talk about whether she would participate or not, and her not giving anything away to Billy Bush in the preshow interview, we got to see what Kate’s role was.

The opening number a musical bit inspired by Glee that found the main cast members joining host Jimmy Fallon in their quest to raise enough money to get them to the Emmy Awards by recruiting stars to join them, was an awesome beginning to a show that dragged on for 3 long hours!  And Kate was one of the best parts of it!

As the Glee kids, Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey ran through backstage trying to find stars to help them out, they ran into Kate Gosselin, fully decked out in her ‘Dancing With The Stars’ tango outfit! Perfectly timed, Kate said ‘Hey Guys! I can help, I’m a great dancer,” eliciting huge laughs from the audience.
I have to say it was so nice to see Kate able to poke fun at herself! Her cameo in the opening number was perfectly timed and she held her own with heavy weights such as Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey! And while she might be ‘just’ a reality star she is one of the most famous reality tv stars out there! For her to be able to poke fun at herself in a room full of celebrities just goes to show what a good sport she is!  Kate take a lot of flack for being an ‘ice queen’ and it was great to see her be funny!

I’m sure being onstage for the opening number of the Emmy Awards was a huge rush! And I’m pretty sure her kids were incredibly proud of her and very excited to watch their mom on stage. What do you think? Do you think Kate did a good job in the opening act?
