Kate Gosselin is one celebrity who doesn’t take criticism too lightly. It is believed that the former reality television star and mother-of-eight might be behind the sudden disappearance of posts criticizing her parental skills (or lack there of) by one of her biggest critics, Robert Hoffman.
Hoffman’s posts on his website were erased on Monday afternoon, leaving the author scratching his head as to who might have been behind it. He revealed he received this message at the top of his account page to gossip site Radar Online: “We have received a DMCA complaint for one or more of your blogs. Emails with the details were sent to you and all affected posts have been reset to “Draft” status (you may find them by selecting “Drafts” on the “Edit posts” page for each of the affected blogs). You may re-publish the posts with the offending content and/or link(s) removed. If you believe you have the rights to post this content, you can file a counter-claim with us.”
While I’m sure many of you will recall, Hoffman is the same author who had his book about Kate Gosselin’s supposed bad mothering habits and rise to fame pulled down from Amazon late last summer. The book contained reams of material found on Kate’s computer hard drive, which Hoffman told Radar he obtained from her trash. Creepy much?
Ok, at this point I’m not sure if this is just bullying or borderline stalking or a combination of the both. Either way, (and I know a lot of readers out there might disagree with me), I’m glad that either Kate or someone on her team is silencing this guy from doing any further damage or public humiliation towards her. By now I’m sure Kate knows all too well the price of fame and the harsh criticism that comes with it, but to dedicate a book and a web site about how much she is not a fit mother goes way over the limit of decency. No person – whether in the celebrity world or not – deserves to be treated that way.
For now I guess we can temporarily nickname Kate the iron butterfly – there’s no messing with her!
