That’s the sentiment in the Gosselin household tonight – or at least for most of them. Mom Kate, who’s burning up her Twitter feed tonight with Super Bowl comments, says, “My kids won’t let me root for East Coast! LOL :-(” But the East Coaster in her was secretly behind the Ravens.)
Kate and all eight of her children were at the edge of their seats tonight watching the game. Sextuplets Aaden, Joel, Collin, Alexis, Hannah and Leah had to go to bed around the time the blackout hit (it is a school night, after all!), and we think twins Mady and Cara followed not long after. But Kate is still up and hoping for some last-minute magic for San Francisco.
The family made an evening of it with a Bowl-worthy spread of stromboli pockets with sauce, vegetable chips and taco dip, vegetables with hummus dip and “Mommy’s Super Bowl Blue Cheese Pretzels” (mmmmm!) Kate burned off a few pre-game calories by jogging on her home treadmill first.
She and her followers shared their opinions of their favorite Bowl commercials. Her picks: Halo, Budweiser, and her #1 fave, the “Gangnam Style” ad for pistachios. Then there was the true highlight: Beyonce’s amazing halftime show!
As the game wound down toward its exciting conclusion, Kate tweeted, “I just realized I screamed at the tv…While watching football??! I’m so proud of myself I think…Are you? I’m INTO this game! (help?!?)”
Alas, her kids will be disappointed in the morning, but Kate wasn’t too upset. “Ok whew. East coast has won. Had to stay true to my coast. :)! Congrats Ravens! Good job 49ers! A game well played by all! Fun to watch 2!”
Yep, there’s something about the game that attracts even people who aren’t normally into football. How about you? Are you celebrating (or pouting) at home now?
