Kate Gosselin Update: Jon, the Kids — and a New Show?

By shanaaborn |

Kate says she and the kids are gr8.

The TODAY show this morning featured an interview with reality star/mom of eight Kate Gosselin, who shared some insights into her children, her latest projects and, yes, even her relationship with her ex-husband, Jon.

Host Ann Curry started off by asking how the eight young Gosselins have been since the cancellation of Kate Plus 8. “Great. We’re doing awesome,” she responded. “The kids are doing great in school. They’ve gone on. [But] they’ve honestly missed filming.”

But that may not be a problem for long; Kate hinted that since her contract with TLC has ended, she’s available for new projects with another network. She says fans are “begging” for a new show, so it’s likely we’ll see the cameras turned back on the family soon.

Also in her plans: a recipe book! “I have eight recipe testers,” she explains, and she’s putting together a collection of her best dishes.

Of course, she’s still blogging for Coupon Cabin, sharing her ideas for inexpensive meals, decorating, family-friendly activities and more. The site is launching a new app this week to help customers save with a touch of their smartphones.

Curry later asked about a touchy — but still popular — topic: Kate’s relationship with Jon since their bitter divorce.

“I can honestly say that it’s more peaceful than it’s ever been,” the reality mom reports. “I feel like a really big weight has been lifted off my shoulders. He’s really been positive and more available, and it’s just less stressful. I feel like he’s working with me, and the kids notice it, and that’s good.”

As a result, she says, she can focus her energies on more positive things, like training for an upcoming half-marathon and planning parties for her children. The sextuplets (Hannah, Leah, Alexis, Joel, Collin and Aaden) just turned 8. “We didn’t have our ‘friend’ birthday party yet — that’s coming up — but we did our at-home, normal, Mom’s chocolate cake, regular stuff,” Kate says. “We always have to swim on their birthday … no matter if it’s 40 degrees!”

So what do you think? Can Jon and Kate get past the h8 for good? And would you watch a new Gosselin show?

Kate did nothing to sell herself, her children or her job of blogging for CC. This woman comes across as out of touch with reality and herself. She has no focus and can not speak simple English.

  2. Carla says:

I guess Kate wants the kids to go back to work so she can buy more shoes. That was the worst interview ever. She loves to make digs at Jon doesn’t she. “He is really positive and more available. ” Kate will not let Jon in the house and he has to drop the kids off at the front gate so its pretty difficult for him to be available. “He is working with me and the kids notice it.” I guess that would be true Kate because everyone works for you and your kids notice. Mady even said you sit on your chair and act like the queen. Kate what happened to working your fingers to the bone to support your kids……we are still waiting.

  3. Ellen says:

She is a liar: practiced over and over. If a reality show featuring her were to see the light of day, it would confirm that there are no sentient beings left in the world of media. And, of course, I would cancel my subscription to whatever network featured it.

  4. Mary says:

The woman is pathetic. Interview was pointless. I see she’s still using her kids for sympathy. The kids want to be on T.V.? Does she really think anyone is buying her bull $hit? If there is a network stupid enough to put her back on the air . It won’t last. The woman has dug her own hole with her lies & diva attitude. She needs to start taking some responsibility for her terrible behavior!

  5. Silver says:

Time to nut up and get a job. You should support your kids, not vice versa. Take a lesson from your ex-husband

  6. Ann says:

She looked awful. Her kids miss filming? Only thing they miss is the vacations since Mom too selfish to take them even on a brief weekend trip. Kate misses filming and all the freebies that go with it, money and not having to work at a real job. She is lazy and feels entitled. Can’t wait until the kids are about 17-18 yrs old and the Karma comes a bitchin along.

  7. Silver says:

Still looking like a medicated tranny. LOL

  8. jodi says:

She misses filming not her kids. Shes not a star. Her kids were the draw. Go back to nursing IF they want her back.

  9. Sasha says:

WOW! A lot of Negative Nellys commenting. I agree that she hasn’t always seemed to have the best perspective. I agree that she likes all the freebies and perks, and paychecks that go with having a show. Honestly people, who wouldn’t.
I have one kid and I want the best for him and, life is expensive. Nice safe and pleasant house/area to live in, sports, education, healthcare, and all the other things that go with caring for a child is CRAZY expensive. Now multiply that by 8!!! The only way for her to support all those kids and give each of them a well rounded and healthy childhood, may be to get the kind of paychecks only found in entertainment.
Ultimately, she is shouldering most of the repsonsiblity of caring for those cute kids and it’s not our right to judge so harshly. We may not like every little thing she does, but look at your own house. 1 in 3 homes has some form of abuse.
