Kate Gosselin's New Long Locks Cost $7000!

kate2smaller1Wowza! How much did Kate Gosselin‘s new long locks cost to create? $7,000! And no, that is not a typo. I did not inadvertently add in a zero. Those new luxurious locks do indeed have a value of seven grand. A hair raising number for sure.

But did Kate actually pay that $7,000 herself? Doubtful. It looks like it was part of the filming for Kate’s new show for TLC. Radaronline.com nabbed an interview with the stylist Ted Gibson – who was responsible for her new look – and said it “would cost almost $7,000 in his salons in Washington, DC, and New York City.” The operative word is “would.” The new hair joins the ranks of  her other free reality star perks like the playhouses for her kids, vacations and her free tummy tuck.

So how does a hairdo cost that much? “My haircuts are $950,” Ted stated. “The color would have been about $500, and the extensions, which were great length extensions, would probably cost about $5000.”

Kate was evidently really nervous about changing her bangs. “We were together for about 20 hours and I would say 15 of those hours were working on Kate trying to convince her to cut her bangs,” Ted said. “I felt like she was hiding behind that front piece.”

The stylist’s goal besides getting rid of her last ridiculous do? “I wanted to make sure I took her from being really ordinary to really extraordinary!”

Kate reportedly loves her new look saying “She was blown away, she had no idea what the length of hair and changing the color and bangs would do for her!”
