Since the cancellation of both her shows, Kate Gosselin has been pursuing all kinds of projects to help support her large family (and if they happen to garner her a little extra publicity, so much the better). She’s been a Dancer With the Stars, a website owner, a marathon runner and a blogger for a couponing website.
Now she’s adding one more job title to her resume: cruise VIP.
Yes, if you’ve been longing to meet the famous mom-of-many, you can book a cabin on her 7-day Caribbean cruise this summer and enjoy a variety of Gosselicious activities throughout the week.
According to the just-published site kategosselincruise.com, you can “Sail With Kate!” from August 12-19 on Royal Caribbean’s ultra-luxe Allure of the Seas. From Ft. Lauderdale, the ship will drop anchor in Haiti, Jamaica and Cozumel.
During travel days, you’ll get the opportunity to have your picture taken with the reality-show star, attend a Q&A session, play “fun family games” with her, learn “a new craft from the professional herself,” go on a shore excursion and join her for several meals, including a farewell dinner exclusively for the Gosselin guests.
Should you get bored of all that, the ship has every amenity a cruiser could desire: a surf area, carousel, shops, spa, 11 restaurants and a zip line offering spectacular views.
And the price for this unique Kate experience? Costs for double occupancy cabins range from a mere $1,900 for the smallest to $3,175 for a Junior Suite. The hotel in Florida is extra.
According to Kate’s tweets today, this will be her first-ever time on a cruise ship, and she tells her followers, “Pls don’t miss it! I’m getting all teary eyed hoping2meet so many of u in 1 place!”
There’s just one small matter – where will the 8 smaller Gosselins be during this week in paradise? The cruise site makes no mention of meeting the kids, so we’ve got to assume this is a solo trip for Kate.
Sure, it’s understandable that it might be tough for her to perform her hostess duties and keep an eye on her children at the same time. But if they are going to stay ashore for this vacation, it’s going to be awfully hard to explain to them why they won’t be basking on the beach, riding the merry-go-round and meeting Po the Panda along with their mom.
I don’t envy her that job at all. My own kids wouldn’t speak to me for a year if I were in that position.
So tell us – will you be booking a cabin with Kate this summer? And is it fair to leave the kids out of a fun trip, even if it is for business?
