Now that the Royal Wedding is over, some of the buzz around the event has definitely died down, though people will likely be talking about the day for years to come. Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding was absolutely an event to remember, complete with tender moments, tradition, and even a few hidden messages!
Kate Middleton and Prince William were given the official titles of The Duchess and Duke of Cambridge, but is Kate truly a princess after marrying a prince? Will she ever be called Princess Catherine?
First things first, we need to get out of the habit of calling Prince William’s bride Kate. My five-year old son even corrects me now when I slip and say Kate instead of Catherine. He reminds me that she is a princess and I must use her formal name.
Although Catherine’s technical title is now “Her Royal Highness, Princess William of Wales,” she may never actually be called Princess Catherine. Because she was not born into royal blood, the only way that she can ever have the title of Princess Catherine is if Queen Elizabeth decides to make her a Princess of the United Kingdom.
Whether she’s ever called “Princess”, Kate Middleton is definitely Royal to us!
