Kate Middleton wedding dress photos from the royal wedding are truly beautiful.

Kate Middleton, as expected, wore sleeves – nothing strapless here, folks. But why was Kate Middleton’s wedding dress fully covered on top?

Seems it is a matter of necessity, really, as she can not expose bare shoulders in the church.

Kate Middleton wore a wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, with a gorgeous train, clean, simple veil and tiara.

Kate Middleton’s wedding dress was very simple and elegant, without a huge amount of fanfare – no doubt, plenty of Grace Kelly comparisons are sure to be made.

Middleton’s royal wedding dress included a lace top bodice to cover the shoulders and arms.

Designer Bruce Oldfield explained the need for sleeves earlier this year: “It will have sleeves. It has to have sleeves. You can’t walk down Westminster Abbey in a strapless dress. It just won’t happen. And it has to suit the grandeur of that aisle—it’s enormous.”

I love that it’s such a timeless and classic style!
