Kate Winslet, Rachel Weisz and Emma Thompson have joined together to form a British Anti-Cosmetic Surgery League. This is not a joke!
Winslet, 35, said that she is extremely passionate about saying no to plastic surgery and persuading other women who allow themselves to age gracefully.
“It goes against my morals, the way that my parents brought me up and what I consider to be natural beauty,” she said.
“I am an actress. I don’t want to freeze the expression of my face.”
Kate Winslet couldn’t have found better partners to join forces with her to fight against Hollywood pressure to undergo cosmetic surgery, than fellow moms Weisz and Thompson.
Weisz said that a face with character is actually an asset in Hollywood, despite the pressures to retain a youthful look.
“People who look too perfect don’t look sexy or particularly beautiful,” she said.
Winslet’s “Sense and Sensibility” film co-star Thompson also agrees.
“I’m not fiddling about with myself,” said Thompson, 52. “We’re in this awful youth-driven thing now where everybody needs to look 30 at 60.”
Winslet recently appeared in ads for Lancome’s L’Absolu Nu but the company came under fire for its excessive smoothing of any lines and creases on the photographs. Kate wasn’t shy to hide her distaste for GQ magazine after it had digitally altered photos of her to make her body appear thinner.
Way to go ladies!!!
