Katie Holmes On Suri Cruise Make-Up Use: Keep It Subtle!
Ever since Katie Holmes has announced her divorce from Tom Cruise, it looks like she has made BIG changes in how she raises the ex-couple’s daughter, Suri Cruise. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen the Kindergartner wearing her mom’s lipstick in public, and now the actress is telling us why.
In a new interview with Vogue UK, the celebrity mom says that she is trying to put less emphasis on beauty and make-up for her daughter and wants her to focus on “running and reading” more. Here’s what she says:
“As a mother, I’m pretty much imparting what my mother and grandmother taught me. We’ll have fun with lip gloss and all those things, and my daughter will grow up and wear it like we do, but I try not to put the focus on looks. It’s definitely more about running really fast and reading, that sort of thing.”
I’m guessing that the whole Suri-wearing-lipstick phase was mostly Tom Cruise and his Scientology philosophy of lettings kids do what they want to do, when they want to do it. Kudos to Katie for standing her ground and raising her children in a stricter, yet practical environment. Now that’s what you call a real good mom!
