Katie Holmes and a new friend

It seems that not only has Katie Holmes been enjoying her newfound freedom since divorcing Tom Cruise earlier this year, but she’s also been adapting to a “new normal,” which consists of not only taking cabs and the subway to work, but chatting with New York pedestrians, too. And that’s something we never saw Katie doing during her time with Tom and Scientology, right?

Well, the actress and single celebrity mama was spotted making small talk with a fan while she was on her way to the Music Box to perform another night of her hit Broadway show, “The Dead Accountants.” The Hollywood star looked both relaxed and casual with wet hair and a rather nice stripped sweater, too.

Take a look at our photos below and tell us, what do you think of this “new” Katie? We’re sure loving her here!
