Katy Perry poked fun on the 36th premiere of Saturday Night Live about her recent Sesame Street controversy (video below).
Perry, 25, wore a tight-fitting Elmo T-shirt cut down the center of her chest, for a “Bronx Beat with Betty and Jodi” skit. She played a clueless teenager named Maureen de Chico, who “developed over the summer”, and bounced around in her tight and revealing Elmo tee.
Comediennes Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph, acted as New York housewives and their advice for Maureen (Katy) was to “never be ashamed of your body” and “get yourself a good bra”.
“It’s so embarrassing,” said Katy as Maureen when asked about her growth.
In addition, Perry was SNL’s musical guest.
Last week the producers of Sesame Street cut a clip of Katy with Elmo because her cleaveage outraged some parents. During the segment, Perry and Elmo performed a version her hit “Hot N Cold”.
On Good Morning America last week, Elmo said Katy was welcome to come back for another “play date”.
Although Katy’s version of the Elmo t-shirt is obviously inappropriate, you can get your hands on a real Elmo tee for your kids.
