Kelly Bensimon's Self-Made Anti-Bullying PSA (Video)

Real Housewife of New York Kelly Bensimon has been combating rumors that she’s certifiable since her crazy vampire/dream murderer accusing explosion rocked the Bravo viewing public.  She’s taken a ton of slack from haters, been offered support by fans, and come out in the press excusing her behavior by blaming “systematic bullying.”

It’s probably been hard on Kelly having the nation think she’s a looney, not to mention having everyone you know think you might show up to their cocktail party wearing a tin foil hat to contact aliens and eat out of their garbage. But she’s trying to spin the episode for good. As the saying goes, when life hands you lemons, make a home-made PSA.

Below, Kelly talks about the evils of bullying. It’s a great message for children, though I am not sure how many fans of hers or of RHONY fall into the K-12 age range. I could be wrong, but in my opinion, bullying stops after you graduate high school. What the ladies do to each other is actually petty rich ladies behaving cattily.

There is a larger message in this though-women in the real world can be awful to each other out of jealousy, low self-esteem, and other inner self-conflicts. It would also have been great, had Kelly used her fame and contacted a brand, sponsor,  or non-profit organizations already set up to counteract bullying and created an actual PSA, instead of filming herself on a chair in what looks to be a hotel room.  Still, I give her a half hearted pat on the back for this one. I hope she watches it and takes her own advice, because let’s face it, she was instigating and being just as much of a bully as the rest of the cast.
