Kirsten Dunst: I'm Ready for KidsShana Aborn
Kirsten Dunst says she’s ready for a simpler life raising kids in the country – but there’s just one thing missing: a man who wants the same thing. The actress, who won the Best Actress award at Cannes last year for her role in Melancholia, tells Lucky magazine that, with her 30th birthday approaching, she’s starting to feel maternal urges for the first time.
“I can’t wait to relive life in a little kid’s way,” says Dunst, who’s starring in the new film On the Road. “I’m so ready for that lifestyle: Get a little place upstate [New York] and have them go to school up there.” She says she had a wonderful childhood and is still close to her parents today.
The problem now: Finding a guy who’s ready to be a dad. “I thought when I reached 30 I’d have a lot more figured out,” she tells the magazine. “Until you have a kid, you’re just looking for your partner. And guys have a Peter Pan vibe. They’re 35 and they act like they’re 25. That’s what scares me about being in my 30s: not finding someone to have kids with.”
(Note to Kirsten: You might want to think about quitting smoking before you start a family. A photographer caught you having a cigarette last night.)
Dunst also confesses that her guilty-pleasure TV show is The Bachelorette. Might we see her handing out roses at the mansion one day soon?
