If you’ve picked up the June issue of SHAPE magazine, you’ve already seen first time mom Kourtney Kardashian is on the cover – in a tiny white string bikini!
Kourtney is mom to 18-month-old Mason Dash with her boyfriend Scott Disick. I love what she has to say about being on the cover of SHAPE: “I’m really excited to be on the cover of SHAPE and offer some advice, particularly to new mothers. I’m proof that even after having a baby, you can look better and sexier than ever!”
So had did she get her body back after having a baby? She’s said before that breastfeeding helped and admitted to SHAPE that her arms “arms already look good from carrying a 25-pound baby around, but I plan to make them really toned” by weight training.
She also says: “Women always ask me how to get back in shape after having a baby. I always say, Know when’s the right time for your workout and commit to doing it.’ For me, I have to get up at 7 a.m. every day, before everyone else, leave Mason in bed with Scott, and go for a run. Thirty minutes of cardio is right outside my door.”
Great advice, and one that we should all try to take! The funny part of that quote is that she said “I have to get up at 7″…is that early? I’m guessing most moms of 18-month-olds are up at that time – I know I am!
And yes, her eating habits have changed as well. After making her son homemade baby food from organic fruits and veggies, she says “I use only organic foods for him, and it made me think about what I put into my body too. I couldn’t sit around eating cookies and expect him to eat vegetables.”
She changed her eating habits, and since she started eating more healthy, she has realized that she actually enjoys it. “It wasn’t just because it’s good for me—I’ve discovered I really liked eating that way.”
It’s a habit worth developing, and one I’m struggling with myself right now!
