Kristy Lee Cook Reality Show: Will You Let Your Kids Watch?

Kristy Lee Cook Goin CountryAmerican Idol finalist Kristy Lee Cook has gone hunting… on a new reality series called Goin’ Country, Kristy Lee Cook shows there’s more to this country singer than just a beautiful face and voice.

Goin’ Country, which premiered on cable network Versus over the weekend, allows Kristy Lee Cook to showcase her hunting skills while showing what it’s like to land a record deal. A strange combination, indeed.

The question is, will you and your kids watch Kristy Lee Cook on Goin’ Country? If you tuned in to watch Cook on American Idol’s seventh season, you may have been rooting for the country beauty who was the seventh finalist that year.

But while American Idol is fun family viewing (for the most part), what about a reality series that shows Kristy Lee hunting down a variety of animals, including pheasants, deer and turkeys.

Did you tune in for the season premiere of Goin Country, or is the subject matter of hunting and killing animals too intense a viewing situation for families? It’s certainly rougher than any insults Simon Cowell ever flung on Idol!

Kristy Lee describes the series as a look at her life and interests: “I know a lot of people who watch hunting shows, and they get kind of bored with them, you know, with the same old thing, in the stand doing this and that. So we tried to make it a little more real life, with my music life in Nashville, trying to make it as a singer, and my life at home with the horses and barrel racing and my foundation for rescuing horses, and then hunting as well.”
