Logan was covering the celebration in Tahrir Square for a 60 Minutes story on Friday February 11, when she and her team and their security were surrounded by a mob of more than 200 people.
In the midst of the celebration, she was separated from her crew and was sexually assaulted and beaten. It took a group of women to step up and save the reporter along with the assistance of approximately 20 Egyptian soldiers.
She reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and flew back to the United States on the first flight the next morning.
Logan is currently in the hospital recovering from her injuries.
She is married and is the mother of one son, who is two years old.
Logan and CBS news will not release any further comments and ask for privacy.
