Larry Birkhead Hits The Today Show With A Slumbering Dannielynn

When Anna Nicole Smith first passed away and there was the subsequent paternity battle for Dannielynn between Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead, I thought the poor child was doomed. Everyone involved just seem like such a scum sucker, to put it nicely. But I’ve been wrong before (once or twice) and I am happy to say this time I was wrong. Anna Nicole’s little girl seems happy, well cared for and loved.

Earlier, Larry and a very tired and sleeping Dannielynn visited the Today Show to promote the memorabilia auction Larry is holding in Las Vegas. “It’s like, do I want to hold on to one of Anna’s dresses, or do I want to try to help Dannielynn’s future?” he said. “We have money. We have more than enough to survive on. [Auction proceeds] would just supplement that.” He is keeping a few items, including Anna’s jewelry “because every little girl likes jewelry.”

The whole thing melts my stone cold cynics heart. As tiny Dannielynn slumbers away in his arms Larry discusses how he is handling discussing her mother’s death. “First I told her mommy is in the clouds and now we’ve graduated to mommy is in heaven.” As she gets older and things become more complicated, Larry says he will seek professional help.

Howard K. Stern will be going to court soon under suspicions that he supplied Anna Nicole the drugs that killed her. Larry does not believe the allegations and says, “Howard is the executor of Anna’s estate, so we spend a lot of time talking about estate business … Howard truly does want what’s best for Dannielynn, and there’s not too many of those people floating around.”
