LeAnn Rimes: NO, I'm Not Trying for a Baby!

No baby bump there!

Maybe it’s all those years of chanting, “First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage!” Whatever the reason, we just can’t resist speculating about how soon it will be before a new bride starts shopping for maternity wear and onesies. Usually the murmuring starts five minutes after the last of the wedding-cake crumbs is swept up.

Well, LeAnn Rimes would like you to stop, thank you very much.

Since marrying her new husband, Eddie Cibrian, last April, LeAnn has been hearing rumors and fielding questions from fans about whether there might be a new little Cibrian on the way. She has no children of her own, but she’s a devoted stepmom to Eddie’s sons, Mason and Jake.

Today, she finally set the record straight in a tweet to two of her Twitter followers: “I have never even tried [to get pregnant] so please stop discussing my ovaries LOL.”

A few minutes later, she sent a longer tweet clarifying her position. “unfortunately it’s beyond not true & not something I feel people should throw around because it takes some couples a long time to conceive & some never can.”

She assured the fans she wasn’t offended by their curiosity, but amused by the fact that “people make articles out of nonsense.”

LeAnn has said that her new husband has always encouraged her to think of his sons as if they were her own. “A family is a family. In my eyes, there’s no ‘step’ about it,” she blogged this fall.

Indeed, the foursome spent New Year’s Eve together, and at the end of the evening, she tweeted, “Oh my goodness…2 of us exhausted and 2 children that still have a ton of energy…home sweet home!”

Sounds like a true mom to me.

What do you think? Should people leave LeAnn alone now that she’s made it clear she has no plans to start a family? Or will you still be watching her waistline?
