Lilly Allen is looking radiant, as the first pictures of her baby bump confirm! The British singer chose the perfect event to debut her growing belly: The premiere of her mom’s new film “Tamara Drewe,” where Allen also opened up about her fears during her pregnancy, which comes after she suffered a miscarriage in January 2008.
The four-months-pregnant singer told the Daily Record yesterday, “I came off the pill and, weirdly, a week later it happened. But then it was really difficult I had complications. I had about a week and a half of really heavy bleeding and had to have lots of scans. I’ve been living in fear for the past three months.”
Anyone who’s had a miscarriage can completely relate to those fears. The chance of miscarriage is high, up to 1 in 3, during those first few months, and anything that feels off can throw you into a panic, having already suffered that terrible heartbreak.
So it’s reassuring to see Allen appearing so radiant and happy after getting through the first trimester. This will be the first baby for her and boyfriend Sam Cooper.
And it’s great to see Allen supporting her family. Allen’s mom, Alison Owen, produced “Drewe,” which is based on a Guardian comic strip about a young female journalist.
