Although they share the same name, Lindsay Lohan’s younger brother Michael Jr. appears to be nothing like his fame-hungry father. The 22-year-old recently made a statement to PEOPLE not to cash in on his 15 minutes of fame, but to express his unconditional support for his struggling sister. Michael Jr. sates,”I think that in the past, her vision had been blurred. People she was surrounded by enablers, leeches, whatever you’d like to call it made things very difficult. It’s quite strenuous to right your wrongs when the people around you help justify your actions. Therefore, cloudy judgment made it easy for her to neglect those trying to guide her.”
Lindsay has recently admitted via Twitter that she does, in fact, have a problem that she is working hard to recover from. Her younger brother supports his sisters efforts stating, “People with addictive tendencies do not get better overnight, so that cannot be expected. However, her commitment to her current recovery is a side effect of the realization of her past mishaps. She is well-aware that she’s at a crossroad in life, and is fully committed to ensuring a healthier future. She has made conscious efforts to improve her lifestyle behaviors and to treat this process with great care. In order to continue her healing process, she’s willing to take whatever steps necessary.”
Forget jail- Lindsay should be ordered to spend more time with her brother! Maybe some of his clarity will be exactly what she needs to get back on the right track. Since we doubt that will ever happen, it is good to know that he will continue to support his sister in the best way that he can. “We her mother, brothers, and sister have been there for Lindsay every step of the way despite what trashy news reports and will continue to give her our support and strength during these arduous times,” Michael Jr. states.
Wow- who would have guessed that Lindsay had such an articulate, supportive, and seemingly wonderful younger brother? This statement truly makes me question the ongoing claims that the lack of parental guidance in Lindsay’s life is what ultimately caused this downward spiral. Her brother seems to have turned out alright, so could poor parenting really be to blame? What are your thoughts on the matter?
