Liz Taylor: Remembering the Child Star (Even Though She's Still Alive)!Emma Brady
The Internet is swirling with rumors of Elizabeth Taylor’s death this morning. While the former child star is currently hospitalized for congestive heart failure, she has not passed away.
Elizabeth Taylor is one of those actresses whose off-screen life often overshadowed her acting career and launched her into the status of cultural icon which transcended generations.
The two-time Oscar winner is best known for her parade of off-screen loves and multiple marriages. She has been married eight times to seven husbands, is the mother of four children, and the grandmother to nine grandkids.
Liz Taylor started her storied acting career at the age of nine in the film There’s One Born Every Minute. Her career immediately took off and she became one of the highest profile child stars of the time starring in National Velvet and Little Women. Elizabeth Taylor was able to transition into adult roles including the iconic Cleopatra. She would win Academy Awards for her roles in Butterfield 8 and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
In recent years, she has taken a low profile and concentrated on her humanitarian efforts which largely involve AIDS related charities. At 78 Liz has been in failing health having battled congestive heart failure, a benign brain tumor, skin cancer, hip replacements, and bouts of pneumonia.
Our best wishes go out to Liz Taylor and her family for a fast recovery from her current hospitalization!
