Young Hank Baskett Jr., son of Kendra Wilkinson and NFL star Hank Baskett, is almost as well known for his gorgeous head of hair as he is for his famous parents. His locks are a perfect combination of his mother’s lustrous color and his dad’s thick, curly texture.
He’s just one of many celebrity boys whose parents don’t rush them to the barber every time their hair grows slightly past their ears. Some moms – notably Celine Dion and Kate Hudson – have caught flak from critics in the past for their sons’ long ‘dos.
Some folks still grumble a bit at the sight of a young boy with hair chin-length or longer. Too girly. Too unruly. Too sloppy-looking. But I’m not one of them. I may not like the way long hair looks on some of these kids, but as long as it’s clean and Mom can get a brush through it once in a while, what’s the big deal?
In the case of a toddler like Hank Jr., it may be a simple haircut issue. My own son didn’t get his first cut until he was almost 3; whenever we tried to get him into the chair, he cried and squirmed so fiercely that the barber was afraid to go near him with the scissors.
So, as the song goes, “Gimme a head with hair – long, beautiful hair, shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen. Give me down-to-there hair, shoulder-length or longer, here baby, here, Mama, everywhere, Daddy, Daddy!”
Have a look at our gallery of long-haired lads and let us know what you think. Who sports it best?
