Loved Jessica Alba, Vera Farmiga or M.I.A.'s MET Ball Gowns? You Can Own Them

Did you love the dresses that celebrity moms Jessica Alba, Vera Farmiga and M.I.A wore to the Costume Institutes’ MET Ball? Well now you, yes you, can be the lucky owner of these one of a kind couture gowns.

The Gap is hosting an auction of these frocks and the bidding started on Wednesday. All the proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in support of the Costume Institute. So what can you bid on?

A slew of dresses that are the result of a collaboration with The Gap (the co-sponsor of the Met’s gala) and an array of hot young designers like Rodarte, Alexander Wang and Thakoon. The auction will be up until May 31st and the dresses are currently on display at Gap’s Fifth Avenue pop-up shop in Manhattan.

Theallet said of the piece (as well as Vera Farmiga’s), “I was inspired by the glamorous tradition of Hollywood actresses. I wanted both of them to be timeless beauties. I was looking to translated through my eyes, what they were looking for, with respect to their taste, unique personalities.”

He said of the design, ” MIA’s dres is based on a modern gypsy and uses a combination of hand crochet and engineered ribbon with appliqué.” But note that the winner only gets the lace portion, the black bodysuit isn’t included.
