On Monday, I had the pleasure and privilege of doing a phone interview with celebrity make-up artist and mom, Bobbi Brown, to talk about her new book geared for teenage girls, Beauty Rules.
Beauty Rules is all about helping young girls learn about being stylish and beautiful, while maintaining their confidence and self-esteem. Too often in today’s society, girls see pictures of models and actresses on the covers of magazines and think, “That’s what I’m supposed to look like…Why don’t I look that pretty?”
The truth is that the young women who grace the covers of those publications have had a whole team of people working on them for hours before the photo shoot, something that Bobbi Brown has experienced first hand. Her goal with Beauty Rules was to feature real girls, not models, doing everyday things like playing soccer, instead of being dressed up in designer duds and looking like beauty queens.
Beauty Rules is the perfect gift for any teen or early 20s girl in your life…and as an added bonus, there is even a section in the book just for moms of daughters. It totally takes the guess work out of how to effectively communicate with your daughter about looking stylish and being current. Actually, just handing her a copy of Beauty Rules is all you need to do!
You can find out more about Beauty Rules on the book’s website, www.beautyrules.com. I also encourage you to watch the video below of the interview I did with Bobbi to learn more about this awesome book, things girls can do to make sure they look and feel their best, and for all you moms out there, she’s even shared tips on how to avoid the dreaded “mom frump.”
Bobbi Brown was completely real, down-to-earth, and an inspiration to talk to. She even managed to boost my confidence…and I’m in my 30s!
Enjoy the interview!
