The Hollywood actress — who has two daughters, Sam and Lola, with ex-husband Charlie Sheen and a two-year-old adopted daughter, Eloise — recently opened up both her home and her heart to Charlie’s twin sons, Bob and Max, who he shares with his ex Brooke Mueller. Denise managed to raise all five children under her care with the help of her father (the very homey yet lovable Grandpa Irv), until she was recently forced to give up her temporary guardianship over the twins.
And we mean “forced” in the worst way possible. According to reports, 4-year-old Bob and Max oftentimes went from sweet to violent within seconds, causing mayhem for Denise and her daughters to the point where she couldn’t control them anymore, even informing the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services of their erratic and disturbing behavior.
In a snippet from the report, Denise apparently wrote that Bob and Max Sheen often go into a “zombie-like state” and often kick and squeeze her pets violently for fun. The four-year-olds have reportedly said they “wanted to hurt and kill” the dogs.
What’s worse is that Denise wanted the boys to be psychologically evaluated but needed their mother Brooke’s permission to do so, and she was ultimately denied. To make a messier situation even worse, it looks like Brooke recently filed a restraining order against Charlie Sheen, making it impossible for him to visit his sons while she has been granted overnight visitations with them. Meanwhile, Denise is blaming the twins’ behavior on Brooke, while Brooke’s camp says this is all a “smear campaign” against the boys’ biological mother.
It’s all completely heartbreaking, isn’t it?
Now, while Charlie has made it clear that he’s not interested in winning any father of the year awards anytime soon, Brooke has seen more rehab facilities than Lindsay Lohan over the past few years. It looks like both parents are in no capacity to raise their sons. Unfortunately, this means that Bob and Max may have years of emotional hardships ahead of them.
Now, I’m no psychologist, but anyone can tell you that without the right role models in their lives, Bob and Max are headed towards a long life of emotional instability due to their parents’ chaotic neglect. While Denise has done all that she can, let’s keep in mind here that she did open up her home to two children who are her ex-husband’s sons and aren’t even biologically hers. Obviously, Brooke is in no condition to parent her own children, so my question is, where are the grandparents? The uncles? The aunts? Surely, there is someone in the Sheen family who can step up to the plate and give these boys the nurturing love and care they deserve, simultaneously taking a huge emotional toll off of Denise, too.
While every human being in this world can be a parent, not everyone can be a mother or father. Tell us Babble readers, what do you think should be the next step for the Sheen twins? Should Brooke be given another chance, or should someone else from Charlie’s family step in to raise the boys?
