It’s not Mariah Carey’s rounder figure that has the bump watch rumor mill churning this time — it’s that she’s backed out of Tyler Perry’s latest movie project, citing medical reasons. Carey was set to act in the adaptation of Ntozake Shange’s 1975 play For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf. Filming was set to start next month. Here’s what her rep says:
“She is not doing the movie because her doctor advised her not to. More than that I cannot comment further.”
Okay, clearly pregnant! Why else would a doctor recommend against starring in a Tyler Perry movie, not exactly known for dangerous stunts or heart-attack-inducing action scenes? Can you imagine what Mimi might name a baby!?! Carey, 41, and husband Nick Cannon have said they are interested in starting a family when her schedule slows down. Consider it slowed! Stay tuned.
