Let’s face it: We all get a little kick out of knowing that the rich and famous have the same problems as the rest of us. And when those celebs are also parents, it’s a comfort to know that all the money in the world doesn’t help when your baby is colicky or when your 3-year-old won’t eat anything but cereal.
Count Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard among those who face the typical parenting challenges. She’s a busy working actress – she’s about to open in Batman: The Dark Knight Rises – and an even busier mom to son Marcel. But, she says in the new issue of Vogue, “I’ve never been more exhausted. But I’ve never had more energy. This is the paradox of being happy. This is where it comes from.”
Still, Cotillard has a distinct workplace advantage that most other working moms don’t have. When you’re an in-demand actress (she’s worked on three movies this year), directors are willing to make just about any concession for you. Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan wanted Cotillard in the film so badly that he arranged his shooting schedule around her time in the hospital delivering Marcel!
Now that‘s what you call a nice parenting perk.
