Martina McBride has three daughters and has experienced much that life with three girls has to offer.
It’s crazy. Life, that is.
Her best advice to her daughters is actually advice that all women should hear.
“I would tell them to be a leader, not a follower. I hope they hear that in the back of their heads when they’re in a group. I think it’s important, especially when navigating their way through peer pressure and making a place for themselves. If you asked them individually, what’s the one thing your mom tells you, that’s probably what they’d say: be a leader, not a follower.”
The funny thing is, I say that same stuff to my boys. They are young and I tell them all the time, be a leader, not a follower.
I think that no matter the gender of the child they all need to be told to be true to themselves. Don’t give into peer pressure, be strong, be yourself.
