You might think that life in the Big Apple, with its abundance of prying eyes and celebrity spotters, would be hectic and intrusive for A-List families. According to Matt Damon, nothing could be further from the truth.
In fact, after leaving Miami for Manhattan, Matt says his family is “thriving” in New York — in part because of the lack of celebrity hounding that goes on there. Are there so many celebrities in NYC that no one notices Matt and his daughter on the way to school?
“They’re all thriving. That’s why we’re so excited about it here… We’re not leaving. Nobody bothers me. The younger ones are not aware of any of the celebrity (stuff). We walk to school every morning. We play in the park. It feels like a normal life.”
Last year, Matt didn’t seem so sure that his move to Manhattan would be so permanent:
“We each have two girls within six months of each other. It’s a strong argument to buy a house there and be near Ben [Affleck]… We’ll see how the little kids do (in New York). If the winter is too tough, we might move to L.A. All my friends with kids live there.”
Apparently, the little kids are doing great in New York. Matt Damon lives in Manhattan with his wife Lucia Barroso, stepdaughter Alexia, 11, and daughters Isabella, 3, and Gia, 1.
