Although the McNair family has issued a brief statement about the shooting death of former NFL star and 2003 league MVP Steve McNair, wife Mechelle Cartwright has not made any public statements.  However, a photo of her and the couple’s son Trenton, has surfaced.

Details are still sketchy concerning McNair’s death, however, it’s believed he was involved in a murder/suicide with a 20-year-old woman named Sahel Kazemi.

Police are reporting that McNair’s body was on the couch with Kazemi next to him.  The football player had been shot several times, and Kazemi was shot only once in the head, with a gun laying close to her body.

What a tragic situation and we can only begin to imagine what Mechelle and her children are experiencing.

Trenton’s date of birth is listed as January 23, 2004.

  1. [...] unanswered.  Of course, most importantly, is to know what exactly happened and why.  But for McNair’s wife, there are other questions that need answering.  Who was Sahel Kazemi and what was she to Steve?  [...]

    He will be missed

  3. onelove says:

God loves everyone. The sun shines on the just and unjust. Judge not that ye shall not be judge. We all do shameful things. We all have done things that we are not proud of. Let the person without sin cast the first stone. There is only one that is perfect and that is God. This guy lost his life. A young woman lost her life. This is not the time to judge them for what they were doing or not doing. This is a time to embrace the families and let them know that we care as fans and people. We forget about all of our troubles and downfalls and jump on someone else problems. Beware my fellow rock throwers a rock may come through your glasshouse one day. Let’s try to uplift one another and be supportive in the time of tragedy and need. Read your bible about ( saul, paul, moses, peter, etc ) and take a look at your own lives. Steve was a good guy overall. To his family you may endure for a night but peace, and happiness comes in the morning. There is no need to worry for what tonight is going to bring it will be all over in the morning. Look up above from which your help and strength cometh from. ONE LOVE

My prayers go out to mcnair’s family and the young ladys family. pray that God will give the families the strength to get thru this.

  5. [...] Mechelle Cartwright has been in the family home since learning of her husband’s death, and a source said, “She’s blindsided by this,” referring to McNair’s alleged relationship with Sahel Kazemi, the 20-year-old waitress who was found dead next to him in his rented condo. [...]

  6. cynthia says:

WOW SO MUCH TO SAY BUT YOU CAN’T BECAUSE WHO ARE WE?? ONLY HUMAN JUST AS HIM I’M A WIFE MOTHER AND COULD NOT EXPLAIN HOW MRS.MCNAIR MUST FEEL I CAN ONLY HOPE SHE FEELS THE PEACE OF GOD THAT BRINGS ALL UNDERSTANDING, MY PRAYER ALSO GOES OUT TO HIS AND HER SOUL BECAUSE THEY WILL HAVE TO ANSWER TO GOD FOR SUCH BEHAVIOR JUST LIKE ME AND YOU WHO ARE READING MY BLOG……JUST PRAY THE PEACE OF GOD APON HER AND THOSE CHILDREN LEFT BEHIND AND THAT GOD HELPS HER RAISE THEM IN THE RIGHT WAY THAT WAY THOSE GENERATIONAL CURSES WILL NOT FOLLOW THEM…..

  7. Rae says:

The act of cheating is perhaps the MOST selfish thing a person can do. It devastates everyone around you. And the person who cheats while KNOWING there is a significant other?? That’s beyond disgusting. Those people have no scrupples and are beyond bottom feeders. My heart goes out to Mechelle. The pain of adultery cuts to the very soul of you. You begin to question everything about you as a person. Damn Steve and his selfish life. You reap what you sow.

  8. Nancy says:

He got what he deserved!! He was cheating on his wife, who by the way gave him 4 kids, now she will have to raise by herself. And how will they grow up? He was just another “athlete” who thought he could do no wrong. Just because he was a football player, does not justify what he did to his family. He wanted his cake and eat it too. I hope he rots in hell!!!

  9. dtea says:

WHY ALL OF A SUDDEN EVERYONE WANTS TO JUMP TO HIS DEFENSE IN “JESUS” NAME? He will be judged and I’m sure after reading the Bible so much– you hypocrites- he will indeed BURN for what he did! Period….

  10. Raheen says:

R.I.P McNair you sorry sack of shit…….

  11. Judy says:

Why are all you people judging Steve he knew what he was doing was wrong and the bible says God will forgive you ask. We do not know if he asked. I pray he was forgiven and I pray for his beautiful wife and sons.

  12. tammy says:

THIS SHOULD BE A LESSON 4 U GUYS,,,DONT PLAY WITH A WOMAN HEART,AND IF U HAVE A GOOD WOMAN AT HOME APPRECIATE HER.

  13. tammy says:

WHAT FOLLOW FAME AND FORTURE—SORROW AND PAIN

  14. Henry Jackson says:

McNair allowed himself to succumb to temptation. Sahel Kazime was a gorgeous and blindingly beautiful. I can see how he fell head over heels for her, but in his marital situation one must look and not loose focus and control. Beneath the beauty and the curves might exist a beast, besides the straying from the marriage.

  15. Aretha from Mississippi says:

Steve’s wife is also a gorgeous woman, everyone’s talking about how beautiful this Kazime was. Well beauty played no part in this I think it was temptation and look what happened. My prayers go out to his beautiful wife Michelle. I hope the fact that you know he cheated makes this easier for you to get over

  17. LaVerne says:

I agree with Aretha, I too am from Mississippi and have to say that Mechelle was prettier than the woman Steve was cheating with. Mechelle also has a college degree, so Steve was cheating because that is what he wanted to do. I do not believe he should have been killed like he was, however you never know how crazy people are especially when their emotions are involved. This chic knew he was married as well as he knew he was married. If she thought he was going to leave his wife with so much to leave then she was mental. Men and some women lie all the time about their wives, she doesn’t do this or that and they will be happier with the other woman, blah blah blah. If they were so miserable with the person that they married, they would all walk around with the divorce papers, or papers stating that it was started. The girl could have looked in the newspaper, checked with the court house, Steve is a public figure in Nashville and other place and you heard nothing about his divorce in the news, because there was not one.
He was dead wrong, and she was crazy ass hell, wanted someone to take care of her. When the officer let him go when she got the DUI, he should have known she was a nut case. He could have been arrested for delinquency to a minor. God was trying to tell him something then. He could have broke it off over the phone. The reason the car was in his name also, because once the affair was over he was going to want it back. If someone buys you something and you are not married to them, then usually there is not joint ownership.

  19. Belinda From Brooklyn says:

His wife made him victorious, not the mistress /she was the other women, anyone that condone the fact that this women was right or beautiful is highly mistaken this women first of all was not attractive the least she probably did what he wanted in the bed anything goes you know what I mean. she was also a jezebel. Her death, if she killed herself she will be going to hell, because there is no forgiveness of suicide, God gave her that life and she voluntarily took it, I agreed she had some loose marbles up there, And when you start messing with women that serve others gods that what happens/ where was she from India no offense to India. I dont believe fame and fortune follows sorrow and pain, I believe living by faith and belivieing God at his word, is all the fortune and man should have. And no one is Judging anyone. These are facts of life what so ever and man soweth that shall he reap, havn’t you heard the just shall leave by faith, and the saints shall judge the world. God loves everyone, that is why natham (the prophet)in the book of Kings Judge King David in a illustation he made on Adultery. My prayers do go out for the kids and well and the family members that are affected by it. And it is sadden that they life went so prematuraly, so soon.

  20. Shane says:

I dont believ ein all this God this and God that whether or not he is going to hell or heaven that doesnt even matter. Its what he has left behind is what needs to be dealt with. This man was fooling his family. And he DID get what he deserved. The bible is right on one thing YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW! He sowed the seeds of badness and thus received badness. The girl is in the same boat. She KNOWLINGLY went after a married man. All you females out there need to stop that crap. You are not a better choice than the woman he married and has been with for 12 years. Leave the marrie dmen alone. All you married dudes take heed. Some of these females out here are CRAZY and will kill you in your sleep.
He was wrong for this, she was wrong for this and they both paid with thier lives. VERY SAD SITUATION.
I hope his wife can cope becasue this is like getting hit by a bus you dont know what to do or to think.

  21. Debra says:

__GOD is the only one to do ANY JUDGING ! PERIOD !!! PRAY FOR THE FAMILY LEFT BEHIND.

  22. Angie says:

This should be a lesson to all the other celebrities who mess around outside of their marriage. And there are too many. They love the adulation and it goes to their head. I wonder how much time he spent with his children. When he retired he said he wanted to spend time with them. Talks out of both sides of his mouth.

  23. [...] hearts go out to Mechelle and the boys, who must now begin the process of moving forward without their loved [...]

  24. wana says:

We have all made mistakes that we wish we could take back nobody deserves to die for cheating so I encourage everyone to just keep the family in your prayers thats all that matters now.

  25. Robyn says:

My prayers go out to Mechelle and her boys.Steve should’ve known better.A beautiful wife and 4 sons at home.He decided he needed more than that and ended up with a nut case. That chick should’ve known something was wrong because he cosigned with her a 2007 escalade. Why not buy her a brand new one? Was he helping her with her bills? Absolutely not.Everything done in the dark always comes into the light.

  26. Queen says:

It’s hard for me to believe that anyone would say that a person deserves to die and that they hope the dead person rots in hell. The person that made those remarks (Nancy) has to be an angry old woman that’s been cheated on. Yes, he committed adultry, which is a sin, but if a person deserved to be killed by another person because of sin, all of us would be dead and rotting somewhere, including good old Christians, of which I am one. I don’t suppose NANCY is, but I have seen some harsh remarks by so called Christian folks. Where is the love of Christ?
