Megan Mcallister: How Does She Recover After Phillip Markoff?

Megan Mcallister lived through a nightmare after discovering Phillip Markoff  was ‘the Craigslist Killer’.  Mcallister was in love, planning a wedding and living the dream.

But Megan’s dream ended when her fiance Phillip Markoff, a 24-year-old Boston University medical student was arrested for the 2009 murder of erotic masseuse Julissa Brisman.

Lifetime’s original film The Craigslist Killer, aired last night and created quite a buzz online.  The Lifetime movie showed the bizarre story of Phillip Markoff  from the point of view of Markoff’s  fiancee.

The film was based on Boston Herald contributor Michele McPhee’s book “A Date With Death,” with a focus on the sensational details from the horrible crimes that “rattled Boston and the Craigslist community.”

The true story of Phillip Markoff  will never be known because Markoff committed suicide in August while awaiting trial for the 2009 murder of Julissa Brisman.  No one will ever know WHY Phillip Markoff went off the deep end but the movie made me feel for Megan Mcallister!

How could you ever trust again after finding out the man you loved and were going to marry was a serial killer?

Even after Phillip was arrested, Megan stood by her fiance saying, “We expect to marry in August and share and wonderful, meaningful life together.”
But as the evidence made it clear that Phillip Markoff  was ‘the Craigslist Killer’, Mcallister broke off the engagement.

After her nightmare, Megan continued to pursue her career in medicine and is currently attending medical school, far away from the spotlight in the Caribbean.
