I don’t know if anyone even really cares anymore but Mel Gibson and ex-wife Oksana Grigorieva have finally reached a settlement.
It’s been a long tumultuous ride that goes back to the birth of their daughter Lucia back in October 2009.
Now, Gibson has agreed to pay $750,000 over the next five years to Grigorieva. He also has agreed to allow her to live in a house he owns in Los Angeles. Under the deal, Gibson will sell the house when Lucia turns 18 and puts the proceeds in a trust for her.
Gibson was grateful with the terms of the agreement. “Thanks, your honor, for bringing this case to a reasonable conclusion,” Gibson, 55, told Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Peter D. Lichtman.
Grigorieva’s attorney said that she too is pleased with the settlement and is now looking forward to focusing on her daughter and her music career.
“Oksana settled this case today because it’s in the best interests of Lucia,” said attorney Daniel Horowitz.
Custody of Lucia will be shared between the two 50-50. Child support details were settled behind closed doors. Other terms of the agreement include that neither are not allowed to publicly discuss each other or their relationship – and they cannot write books about each other.
So much for that tell-all book.
