Music legend Melissa Etheridge is proof that it’s possible to juggle a successful career with motherhood at the same time.
The singer, who battled cancer in 2004, was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week. She made it a family affair by bringing out her children, Bailey Jean and Beckett to the ceremony.
During the ceremony the two-time Grammy winner joked that she was “too young” to have a Hollywood star.
“I feel kind of young to have this happen, but it’s great, I’ll take it. It’s fine with me,” she said.
While she might be “too young” to receive the honor, we think this celebrity mom is keeping herself looking great. Whereas her personal life might have seen some rocky episodes in the past year, Melissa is doing a great job of keeping her children grounded and out of the Hollywood spotlight.
Meanwhile, rarlier in the day, she also revealed in an interview that she taught fellow celebrity dad Brad Pitt how to fly-fish.
“I taught Brad Pitt how to fly-fish in my swimming pool,” Melissa revealed to Access Hollywood. “Back when he had to audition. He was up for the part in ‘A River Runs Through It.’ So, he had to learn how to fly-fish. So there we are in Hollywood, in my pool and I’m teaching him how to do it.”
Even though the two parents used to be wonderful friends, Melissa says she hasn’t spoken to Brad in years.
“He’s a wonderful guy, she said of Brad. “I haven’t seen him in years. Love you Brad, wherever you are.”
