Michael Jackson's Inflammatory Pepsi Commercial Released, Why? (Video)

For those of us who just have to slow down as we drive by a car wreck, Us Weekly has released the video (after the break) where Michael Jackson’s hair caught on fire while taping a Pepsi commercial.

I admit, I had to watch it. It’s not particularly graphic or anything, but it’s still really weird to watch Michael’s mishap.

Hopefully, Michael’s kids won’t watch it. I think that would just be too much for them. It’s kinda like watching Bret Michaels almost getting his head knocked off by a set piece at the Tonys…  except shortly after his death.

I really wonder who had the rights to it, and why it got released now… 25 years after the incident? Did Us make an offer they couldn’t refuse? Or was the seller just afraid that MJ would sue?

Releasing it now seems a little disrespectful to Michael’s family, but at least they didn’t do it 3 weeks ago, I guess. What do you think? Is it out of line?
