Hmm, this probably is not going to convince Michaele Salahi to cut down on her antics. After a week in which the star of the new Bravo series “The Real Housewives of DC” angered dozens, possibly hundreds of people, including her co-stars and the hosts of “The View,” viewership for her new show was really, really strong.
More than 1.6 million viewers watched the antics of the latest “Housewives” during Thursday’s premiere, according to Nielsen Media Research.
To see how that stacks up against previous “Real Housewives” series premieres, and which one still holds the record for the best debut, read on.
The “DC” wives came in just short of last year’s “Real Housewives of New Jersey” premiere, which drew 1.7 million viewers. That remains the all-time “Housewives” debut record.
But compared to the other “Housewives” franchises, “DC” got off to a kickin’ start. The original, the “Real Housewives of Orange County,” debuted to a mere 430,000 viewers four years ago.
The second spinoff, “Real Housewives of New York City,” drew an audience of 824,000 in 2008, followed by the 656,000 who watched the premiere of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” later that year.
Which, sigh, probably means you can expect Michaele Salahi and husband Tareq Salahi to drop in uninvited on the president again.
