Michelle Duggar Of 19 Kids And Counting: Is She Putting Her Baby And Her Own Life At Risk?

20 kids?!?!

While some mothers say no thank you again after giving birth to their first child (because it’s sooo easy, right?), the Duggar family either a) need another paycheck from TLC or b) think it’s still 1870 because they are spawning for the 20th time.

But, as mama Michelle Save-My-Uterus Duggar is 45-years-old now, could she be risking her health with yet another pregnancy again?

On the Today show this morning, Dr. Nancy Snyderman officially diagnosed Michelle’s uterus, comparing it to a water balloon and saying, “She’s a high-risk pregnancy because she’s 45, and because that uterus can’t have any spring in it anymore.”

“I mean, really, it’s gotta be like a water balloon that has no tensile strength,” she added.

Dr. George Macones, chair of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology’s obstetrics committee, also told the Today show, “Any woman expecting her 20th baby is going to be an older mother, which carries its own risks no matter how many children she’s delivered.”

“Two of the main ones, he says, are gestational diabetes and preeclampsia, which is more common in the oldest and the youngest of moms,” he added.

Michelle’s last child (don’t make me look up the name) was delivered three months early and only weighed in at one pound.  She also suffered from preeclampsia during her pregnancy.

Not only is having another child at her age unsafe for both her and her baby, but it’s also not a financially smart idea, too, especially in today’s economy.  Could you imagine extreme couponing for that family?

Actually, I think I just gave TLC their next reality show idea.
