Miley Cyrus: Can’t Be Tamed

By Victoria |

Seventeen-year-old Miley Cyrus has ruffled her share of feathers with her pole-dancing performances and controversial photo shoots, but her recent “outing” in Detroit far surpasses these antics on the list of what not to do while famous and underage.

Although Miley was in town to shoot her new movie LOL, she decided to take a night off and go out with some friends. So what’s the big deal? Everyone deserves a night off, right? Right. Except, of course, when the chosen venue is a 21+ lounge and the friends are Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher.

Suddenly this night out is, in fact, a big deal. Even if the bar had closed off a section for the cast, as was reported to sources by Miley’s rep., she still has no business being in a 21+ venue at her young age.

Now, I’m not going to pretend that being seventeen doesn’t come with the occasional lapse in judgment resulting in poor decisions. But one has to wonder, what were her manager and, even worse, her parents, doing when she was at an exclusive lounge with “friends” almost three times her age? Getting their hair highlighted?

I think the most important thing to remember is that fame should not negate parental responsibility. Yes, Miley is a star, but she is also a child that could easily drown in the world of fame. Hopefully this will be the last incident of this nature, as the track Miley appears to be on only leads to train wrecks.
