Earlier this week Houston police issued an Amber Alert for fifth-grader Jonathan Foster, who was last seen on Christmas Eve. Today there’s tragic news: Police are trying to identify a badly burned body found in Northeast Houston. Has Jonathan Foster been found?
The child’s body, which was burned elsewhere and dumped in a ditch between two buildings, is not easily identifiable; police aren’t even sure if it’s a girl or a boy. It is, of course, a terrible discovery no matter who it is. But Jonathan Foster’s grandmother apparently is holding out hope that her grandson will be returned.
“I believe he’s out there, I believe he’ll be found,” she told a local news organization. “Whoever has got him, let him go.”
Our thoughts are with the Fosters during this difficult time.
