Mom Demi Moore to Divorce Ashton Kutcher: Both Release Statments – What They Said

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore

We all saw it coming. Demi Moore finally confirmed that she is indeed divorcing Ashton Kutcher.

When it was revealed that Ashton had allegedly been unfaithful and had cheated with a young woman in Vegas, it became a public embarrassment to both of them, especially after the details of the tryst were released to the world. Then there were the alarming photographs of Demi Moore’s shrinking frame, which seemed to scream as a side effect of problems at home. Tabloids and web sites had given the relationship a death sentence, and they were right.

The two made a extremely good looking couple and gave cougars and single moms everywhere hope. But the saddest thing about their breakup is the effect it will have on their family. Demi Moore’s kids were famously close with their stepdad Ashton. And now the three girls will have to live through their mother’s second divorce.

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher both released statements about their break up:

Demi told the Associated Press:

“It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton. As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life. This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation.”

And Ashton went to his favorite medium - Twitter - to address the end of their marriage.

“I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and Light, AK”
