Mom Kate Hudson Credits Her Parents Goldie Hawn And Kurt Russell For Her Upbringing

Kate credits her mom Goldie Hawn for her upbringing

Despite her fame, Kate Hudson is one of the most grounded actresses in Hollywood, crediting her success and grounded persona to the laid back upbringing she had by parents Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.

Kate, who just gave birth to her second son Bing in July, says her parents were lax when it came to discipline and held back parental criticism while Kate was growing up.

“My parents allowed my brother and I to have our freedom,” the “Something Borrowed” star tells Elle magazine.  “We could be ourselves and feel confident in our choices and make mistakes without too much judgment.”

Kate also adds that she hopes she “can do as good a job” as Goldie and Hawn as parents for her two boys, Ryder and Bing.

“My mom never hands out unsolicited preachy words of wisdom,” she adds.

What do you think of Goldie and Kurt’s no-stress and discipline approach to parenting?

In the meantime, here are some pics of Kate and fiancé and Muse frontman Matt Bellamy out in Los Angeles today.
