Mom's the Editor of French Vogue – She Sometimes Shows Up Without Pants

By Sunny Chanel |

julia-restoin-roitfeld-carine-roitfeldNow many little girls would just love to have a mom who was in the fashion mag biz. Just think of all that dress-up play potential. But having an artistically free and fashion forward family isn’t always as great as it sounds.

New York Magazine spoke with Julia Restoin Roitfeld whose mom just happens to the editor of French Vogue- the always chic Carine Roitfeld. But would most mom’s show up at their son’s art gallery opening without wearing any pants? Carine would! Daughter Julia said of her mom:
“As a kid, you just want to fit in, you want to look like everyone else,” Julia said. “You don’t want to be in leopard shirts and leather pants.” She described one of her mom’s own outfits as: “Mrs. Robinson as Lady Gaga, all black lace and dominatrix boots, topped off with a cape.”

What would you think if you’re mom wore something like that?  And would you ever wear something like that to your kid’s party?
