Mother Warriors: Celeb Moms Who Were In Labor For Days! (Photos)

Mother Warriors

I consider myself one of the lucky ones out there when it comes to my personal labor story. See, I come from a long lineage of Slavic women who built their strength plowing fields while cleaning their own homes (this was before housekeepers) for centuries before my generation of cousins popped out their babies in Long Island hospitals in a record 45 minutes. I guess since our ancestors went through all that hard labor and work for us, we get a free pass in the labor room. That, or we’re tough Polish cookies (take your guess!).

But when it comes to Hollywood of course, everyone has a story to tell. I’m sure by now you’ve heard of how many celebs out there have scheduled c-sections, but there are those few that are made out of real steel when it comes to giving birth to their babies. Celebrity moms Gwyneth Paltrow, Milla Jovovich and Evangeline Lily didn’t just endure labor for a few hours they went through it for a few days. Talk about mother warriors!

Check out our slideshow of celebrity moms who have endured the longest labors and tell us, what was yours like? Did you go through a quick labor or did yours feel like it lasted for days? Let us know!

When Gwyneth Paltrow says she likes to do things the natural way, she really means it. The healthy-living actress was in labor for 70 hours when she gave birth to her daughter Apple in 2004. She later said of the ordeal: "It was worth every minute. I came out of it thinking, 'Well, I would have amputated my legs for her.' So that was nothing."

And if you thought Gwyneth Paltrow going into labor for 70 hours was bad, Milla Jovovich endured it for that long plus another two hours. Oh that's right! 72 hours of labor. The "Resident Evil" star coincidentally went into labor on Halloween of 2007, eventually going under the epidural after two sleepless nights.

Talk about mother warrior. Actress Evangelina Lily, who likes to keep things private when it comes to her family life, revealed on the "Jay Leno Show" last October that she was in labor for over 30 hours before she gave birth to her son, Kahekili. And those weren't painless hours either. She recalled: "After about five hours of pushing, my midwife and my birthing assistant said, 'You know, we have a few suggestions.' And I was like, 'Really? After five hours of pushing you have a few suggestions? You couldn't have told me five minutes in?'"

Keri Russell, who just gave birth to her daughter Willa two days after Christmas last year, endured one heck of a lengthy labor with her first child back in 2007. The former "Felicity" actress endured 38 hours of drug-free labor with her son, River.

Miranda Kerr has a Vietnam story of her own, too. After going through 27 hours of labor, she gave birth to an almost 10-pound baby, her son Flynn. She said, ""I kept thinking, how do women do this? But if other women have done this, I can do it, too. I was determined. I actually thought I was going to die at one point and left my body. I felt as if I was looking down on myself the pain was so intense."

Kate Winslet had actually lied about how she gave birth the first time around. She said that she gave birth to her daughter Mia the natural way but admitted the truth four years later that the birth was an emergency c-section instead. Kate did finally get to feel what it was like with her second child after enduring 14 hours of drug-free labor.

Ok, so Gisele might have not gone through 70 hours of labor like Gwyneth and Milla, but she does have a story to tell, too. After being in labor for 12 hours, she gave birth to her son Benjamin in a water tub. And I'm sure you've heard the rest: she made pancakes for her family the next morning and posed in a bikini seven weeks later.
