Toula, a Greek woman, falls in love with Ian, a non-Greek, to the horror of both their families. Scenes like this one show that when you marry someone, you also marry their (often-crazy) family. We hope things weren't as awkward for Kate and Will's parents!
My Best Friends Wedding 2 of 14
Girl is in love with best guy friend. Guy gets engaged. Girl tries to sabotage the wedding. It's a classic, and hilarious, storyline. Let's hope none of Will's former flames get any ideas from this scene — a public song is very un-royal-like.
Made of Honor 3 of 14
Similar to My Best Friend's Wedding but with a gender reversal, this film features Patrick Dempsey as the "Male of Honor" for his best friend's wedding. Since he's in love with the bride, he thinks getting close to her — and braving her other bridesmaids, as he does in this scene — will help her realize that he's her true love. Hopefully Kate's bridal party is more agreeable.
Wedding Crashers 4 of 14
Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn form the ultimate tag team in this comedy about two guys who crash weddings for fun. We're sure the British guard will have no problem keeping even seasoned crashers like these out of the royal wedding.
The Sweetest Thing 5 of 14
Christina and Courtney (Cameron Diaz and Christina Applegate) are two carefree twenty-somethings who take a road trip to crash the wedding of a man Christina met at a club. Here, they have some fun while trying to find the right outfits. We wonder if Kate's bridesmaids had this much funtrying on gowns…
Bride Wars 6 of 14
Two best friends become enemies when they plan their weddings on the same day, at the same venue. Their attempts to sabotage each other in the weeks leading up to the Big Day make for cringe-worthy moments. Luckily for Kate, this doesn't happen when you marry royalty.
Four Weddings and a Funeral 7 of 14
This aptly named ‘90s British rom-com follows a group of friends as they attend (or are in), well, four weddings and a funeral. Shown here in his character's Best Man speech, Hugh Grant admits being afraid he'll be single forever. Hopefully, Harry doesn't embarrass Will with this kind of toast.
… Then there's the woman who's always a bridesmaid, never a bride. Katherine Heigl plays a modest assistant who's been a bridesmaid in 27 weddings. And who's the couple she must help out in wedding 28? Her sister and her boss, who she's in love with. We doubt a stunner like Kate would ever be stuck as the perpetual bridesmaid.
The Wedding Planner 10 of 14
Those who can't wed, plan. That's the motto of this Type-A wedding planner (J. Lo), who is great at everything but finding a husband. Then a dreamy doctor (Matthew McConaughey) saves her life and she's smitten — until she finds out he's the groom of one of the biggest weddings she's in charge of. Lesson for Kate: keep an eye on your wedding planner.
In this wedding movie favorite, Steve Martin plays a typical dad who refuses to accept that his little girl is all grown up and getting married. But he finally comes to terms with things as he walks his daughter down the aisle in this touching scene. We can only imagine how emotional things will get at the royal wedding.
