MTV Movie Awards: For Sandra Bullock, Even Better Than the OscarsAD Lynn
For a mom, one thing tops winning an Oscar (well, one thing other than a good night’s sleep): Winning an MTV Movie Award. Because honestly, for the under-16 set, MTV’s awards are the highest film honor. So I was thrilled, truly over-the-moon, to see new-mom Sandra Bullock listed three times on the nominee list. What’s she up for? Only two of the nods are for her Blind Side role. Details below, a chance to cast your vote, plus a few of the other parents in the running for the Golden Popcorn.
Sandra is up for “Best Kiss,” for her lip-lock with Ryan Reynolds in The Propsal (she’s the only parent in this category!). She’s also vying for “Best Female Performance” for her star turn in The Blind Side, and “Best Comedic Performance,” again for The Proposal.
Other parent favorites include Helena Bonham Carter, up for “Best Villain” for her role in Alice in Wonderland, Angelina Jolie as “Biggest Badass Star” for her role in Wanted, and the combo of Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber, nominated along with Ryan Reynolds for “Best Fight”, for their battle in Wolverine.
