MTV's 'Teen Mom': Modern Day Birth Control

MTV's Teen Mom

I’ve been captivated by MTV’s ‘Teen Mom‘ this season and disgusted all at the same time. This series should be the modern day form of birth control.

The lives of Farrah, Catelynn, Maci, and Amber have been splashed across our television screens for the past two years. And in that time, we have watched them pregnant, giving child birth, and raising their children at an incredibly young age. Here’s an update on the “teen moms.”

Farrah – She is about to move back in with her mom. Yes, the one she got in a physical altercation with which resulted in restraining orders and community service. This girl is all attitude. She clearly never got the chance to grow into adulthood and it’s a shame she never will. All she does is roll her eyes and cross her arms. She clearly needs love.

Amber – Oh, where do I begin? Her on-again off-again relationship with Gary is toxic to their little tyke Leah. There isn’t a moment where they are not fighting. If they knew what was best for the little one, they would go their separate ways.

Catelynn – Her main problem is her mother. Catelynn gave her baby up for adoption and her mother has never respected her because of it. Most of the time I feel as though Catelynn is far more mature than her own mother.

Maci – Maci plans to move to Nashville to live with her boyfriend. She is even considering transferring schools, all while she doesn’t let her babydaddy know until last minute.

For all of the teenage girls watching this series, I feel as though may never fall into the trap of teenage parenthood. All they have to do is watch the lives of these four young girls unravel and be thankful to not be them.
