We don’t know for sure if it’s Natalee Holloway, but here’s the latest news: Dutch authorities have asked the long-missing teen’s family for dental records in order to try to match them to a jawbone found in Aruba last week, which investigators think could belong to the girl.
Natalee’s father, Dave Holloway, says that he has not heard one way or another whether there is a match. The bone was sent to the Netherlands for analysis after being discovered last Friday, but at this point it’s not even clear if it’s a human bone.
The then-18-year-old Holloway disappeared five years ago in Aruba while on a class trip. Her disappearance has never been solved, though Joran van der Sloot is suspected of having something to do with her disappearance. He’s currently under arrest in the killing of a Peruvian woman.
At this point, I’m sure the Holloways would like some closure after all these painful years. Let’s hope they hear some news on this new development soon.
